The Landscape Designer can help a client in several different ways. Below is a description of the services that Redbud Design can provide to turn your project into a reality.

Conceptual Master Plans – A conceptual master plan is a rendered drawing that illustrates how each element within your landscape will be laid out and how those elements will relate to each other. This drawing is where we put your dreams on paper. When this drawing is complete the results are used to develop the rough budget numbers to see how the design correlates with the budget. If necessary this plan is then revised in order to stay within the budget. This plan may include some or all of the following items: the house (if new and unbuilt), guesthouse, garage, swimming pool, pool house, water feature(s), pond, outdoor kitchen, sport court, play structure, arbor or pergola, fire place or fire pit, specialty gardens and any other feature you may need or desire. This drawing then becomes the blue print for the construction drawings.

All conceptual Master Plans are done on a time and materials basis.

Construction Drawings: Construction drawings can include several sheets depending on the complexity of the master plan. These drawings, once completed, can be used by various trades such as a landscape contractor, a mason and a carpenter to complete a concise bid for installing the work as designed.

a. Hardscape Plan: Dimensional layout of all hardscape elements with material call outs.

b. Planting Plan: Scaled layout of all trees, shrubs, vines, perennials, ground covers and lawns with lists of quantities, sizes and specialty call outs.

c. Irrigation Plans: Scaled layout of an irrigation plan (when necessary) to show spray and drip irrigation systems and the controller that operates them automatically.

d. Lighting Plans: Scaled layout of safety and accent lighting, transformers and wire.

e. Construction Details: Decks, Arbors, Patios, Walls, Pools, Outdoor Kitchens, Stairways, Pathways, Spas, Sport Courts, Gates, Fences, Water Features, etc.

All Construction Drawings are prepared on an individual customized basis. The fee associated with this service is a flat rate fee that is established after the completion of the master plan. (See above.) Contracts for residential construction drawings range from $2000.00 for a modest suburban landscape to $10,000.00 and above for estate-size or highly complex projects.

Consultation: Consultations can include one or any combination of the following services and the fee is on a time and material basis.

a. Contractor Referrals and Bid Analysis: Helping the owner find the right contractor(s) for their specific job and analyzing the completed bid(s) to see if they are accurate and complete.
b. Plant Sourcing, Procurement and Placement: Finding and supplying all of the plants for the project from the best nurseries to ensure the best plants possible, scheduling delivery of the plants onto the site during installation and fine tuning the placement of plants prior to final installation.
c. Construction Installation Management: Onsite meetings during the construction installation process with the various contractors involved, to ensure that the completed project is both a pleasant experience for the homeowner and a project that is installed as designed. This service includes answering any design questions, helping with any design changes and change orders, coordinating the various contractor schedules and doing a final walk through and final punch item list.
d. Material and Product Shopping: During the design process it is sometimes necessary to shop and select just the right product for the job. This may include trips to specialty nurseries for specimen trees or pots, or to a landscape supply yard for selecting the stone for a patio, path or wall.
e. Acquiring Permits: Some cities and/or counties require permits for certain aspects of a landscape installation. They may require construction details for a deck or for a retaining wall or an arbor. This process can take anywhere from a one hour over-the-counter visit to several visits and possible revisions.
g. Planting Upgrades or Site Renovation: Some established gardens simply need to be renovated with new plantings and some minor hardscape changes. This can be accomplished by a one time visit or by several 1 to 2 hour visits to establish what needs to be done and could include plant ordering and plant placement.
h. Maintenance Advice and Seasonal Reviews: Whether the job is being maintained by a professional landscape maintenance contractor, or by the home owner, a quarterly or twice yearly review for maintenance can keep a garden looking its best for years to come.
